Adriano Pop
Adriano Pop was born in Aguacate Village, Toledo District, on 27th August 1971. At the age of 16, his family moved closer to Punta Gorda Town in search of better educational opportunities for his younger siblings. As the eldest child, Adriano had to leave school and work alongside his parents to help support the family and ensure that his younger siblings could continue their education. This experience instilled in him the values of sacrifice, responsibility, and hard work.
At the age of 18, Adriano joined the Agriculture Department in Toledo as a laborer. Shortly afterward, he was assigned to the Taiwanese Rice Seed Production Unit, where he gained valuable hands-on experience in rice production. During his time there, he learned to operate various types of machinery used in planting, production, and harvesting.
When the Rice Program ended in 1995, Adriano returned to the Toledo Agriculture Department as a laborer. Over the years, he expanded his skills and took on additional responsibilities in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, and welding. These experiences not only strengthened his technical abilities but also contributed significantly to his professional development and deepened his commitment to the Public Service.
Adriano’s journey has been defined by hard work, continuous learning, commitment, and service. He takes pride in the contribution he has made to the agricultural sector and to the people of Toledo District. His dedication and willingness to learn have enabled him to build a meaningful career while serving his community and supporting the development of agriculture in Toledo.
