About
Belize Public Service - Walk of Recognition & Inspiration
Belize Public Service Walk of Recognition and Inspiration is a landmark promenade and a unique tribute to individuals and specific government divisions for their commitment and outstanding contributions to the Government and People of Belize. Located in the Capital City of Belmopan, this walk is an outdoor exhibit that showcases, in concrete and steel, the symbolic footstep impressions and high reaching stars of those honored.
What makes this Walk so interesting is the diverse range of inductees that have been honored. From chief executive officers and financial secretary to clerks, sanitary engineers and security services personnel, the walk recognizes the contributions of a broad spectrum of individuals which characterizes a true representation of ordinary men and women, who do extraordinary things for the betterment of others.
According to the CSQAU of the Ministry of the Public Service, which runs this monumental site, the Walk of Recognition and Inspiration was created to in a prominent way, instill pride in and for the work of public officers and the public service. Though often-times a thankless job, these inductees, like many other public officers have committed their lives to keeping the engine of the government going to ensure that important social service are provided to Belizeans. The Walk also serves to enrich historic value and cultural heritage of the capital City, priming it into a tourist attraction.
