Carlos Jimenez

In June 1990, Carlos Jimenez entered the Public Service as a Lands Inspector in the Ministry of Natural Resources, working in the Land Registry Section located in the Government Building beside the Belmopan Market. He served in the Land Registry Section for five years before being transferred to Belize City—a move he personally requested in pursuit of more challenging responsibilities.

After five years in Belize City, Mr. Jimenez was assigned to a project known as the Land Management Programme, based in Belmopan. This programme included the Land Adjudication Project, which involved the compilation of both surveyed and unsurveyed lands—covering national lands and privately owned properties—to be brought under compulsory registration. The project focused primarily on the two northern districts, a portion of the Belize District, and all district towns, and lasted for six years.
Upon the project's completion, Mr. Jimenez was reassigned to the Land Registry Section, where he served as Officer in Charge of the Land Titles Unit for five years. During this period, he pursued further education in the paralegal field at the University of the West Indies Campus in Belize City.

In 2012, Mr. Jimenez was transferred to the San Ignacio Lands Office, where he served for eight years, continuing in his role as Lands Inspector. In July 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, he was transferred to the Dangriga Lands Office. This period presented numerous challenges, including travel restrictions, mandatory mask-wearing, social distancing protocols, enforced vaccinations, and the threat of penalties for non-compliance with health regulations.
He served in Dangriga for two years, including one year as Officer in Charge, before being transferred back to the San Ignacio Lands Office. During his assignment in Dangriga, Mr. Jimenez was promoted to Assistant Lands Officer, thanks to the support of former CEO, Dr. Lesbia Guerra.
In July 2024, he was again posted to the Dangriga Lands Office. As of June 2025, Carlos Jimenez proudly completed 35 years of service in the Public Service—an impressive milestone as he approaches retirement in April 2026.
Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Jimenez has gained extensive knowledge and experience. His guiding principles have remained unwavering: to be humble, to help the less fortunate, to act righteously, and above all, to serve God.
