Hubert Hartford Humes
For 35 years and 7 months, Mr. Hubert Humes has been a dedicated and hardworking Public Officer who has served the people of Belize with distinction, commitment, and integrity.
Mr. Humes began his career in the Public Service on January 15, 1991, when he joined the General Post Office (Parcel Post) as a Second-Class Clerk. During his 14 years at the General Post Office, he was responsible for the assessment of duties and the collection of government revenue. Through his dedication and professionalism, he made a valuable contribution to the efficient operations of the department.
In November 2005, Mr. Humes was transferred to the Office of the Auditor General, where he continued to demonstrate his commitment to excellence. He served first as an Audit Clerk I and later as an Examiner of Accounts III. His responsibilities included reviewing financial statements, conducting fraud investigations, and carrying out compliance audits.
Throughout his career, Mr. Humes has consistently pursued opportunities for professional development. He participated in numerous local and international training programmes in the field of auditing. One of his notable achievements was completing a two-month course in Public Sector Auditing in India, which further enhanced his knowledge and expertise.
In recognition of his outstanding performance and dedication, Mr. Humes was honored as Employee of the Year in 2018. He also demonstrated leadership and commitment to his fellow public officers by serving as Vice Chairperson of the Belize City Public Service Union Branch from 2003 to 2004.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Humes is widely regarded as a willing and dependable colleague who is always ready to assist and support others. His willingness to share his knowledge and lend a helping hand has made him a valued member of the Public Service.
Mr. Humes' 35 years and 7 months of service represent longevity, loyalty, consistency, professionalism, and an enduring commitment to the Public Service and to his colleagues. His career is a testament to the positive impact that dedication and perseverance can have throughout a lifetime of service.
Today, as we proudly celebrate this significant milestone in Mr. Hubert Humes' career, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for his 35 years and 7 months of outstanding service and dedication to the people of Belize, the Public Service, the General Post Office, and the Office of the Auditor General.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to his family for their love, support, and understanding throughout the many years of his service.
