JUNE BROWN YOUNG

June Brown Young is a devoted wife to husband Philip Young Jr. and proud mother of two, son Philip the third and daughter Meghann. Her strength has always been rooted in love and quiet resilience. As a parent to a child with special needs from birth, June’s journey has been shaped by compassion, patience, and an unwavering commitment to care. These qualities she seamlessly carried into her professional life.
In December 1980, at just 16 years old, she embarked on her career path in the public service as a Clerical Assistant shortly after graduating from the Belmopan Comprehensive School. Now retired, June reflects on a career marked by integrity, being a notable public servant whose career reflects unwavering dedication, resilience, and exception in financial administration. Appointed as an Accountant on November 1993, June served with distinction in an acting capacity, for over a decade, ultimately earning the promotion to Finance Officer III in March 2004.
Her achievement and work ethics speaks for itself as she became the first Finance Officer entrusted with overseeing the financial operations of Belize’s largest ministry at the time in 2013 to 2017 (the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Environment, Sustainable Development, Climate Change, Solid Waste, and Immigration). This extraordinary responsibility, merging two ministries and two CEOs, was a testament to her capability, integrity, and the trust she earned from senior leadership.
June’s commitment to public service extended far beyond titles. Her performance consistently exceeded expectations, and her quiet humility never overshadowed the impact of her work. She exemplified the values of the Public Service with discipline, accountability, and service to country, while advocating for fair recognition of long-standing contributions, attributes she continues to demonstrate in her personal life.
Throughout her career, she was uplifted by the support of her mother, Bernice Brown Triminio. Whether staying up late during budget preparations or offering gentle encouragement in moments of uncertainty, Bernice remained a constant source of strength. Her prayers became a quiet foundation beneath every milestone. It is no exaggeration to say that her daughter’s journey would not have been possible without that enduring love and devotion.
Her legacy stands as a reminder that true service is measured not just in years, but in the depth of one’s commitment and genuine respect for others. To this day, many of the officers she once
mentored in the Finance Division continue to seek her knowledge, a testament to the lasting impact of her guidance and the enduring example she sets as a model of excellence for future generations of public servants.
