Karen Mahmud

Karen Mahmud has had the privilege of serving the Government of Belize as a public officer for 35 years. Her distinguished journey in public service began as a Second Class Clerk at the Ministry of Works. Over the course of her career, she continued to broaden her experience and contribute to the work of several government ministries, including the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Economic Development, Petroleum, Investment, Trade and Commerce, and ultimately the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, where she currently serves as a First Class Clerk.

Throughout her 35 years of dedicated service, Karen has sought to carry out her responsibilities with integrity, commitment, professionalism, and honour. Her career has provided her with the opportunity to work with and alongside many people, build lasting professional relationships, and offer support and assistance to others whenever the opportunity arose.

Her journey through the Belize Public Service has been marked by both rewarding and challenging experiences. Along the way, she encountered obstacles that tested her resilience, embraced opportunities that contributed to her professional growth, and celebrated accomplishments that made her journey meaningful. Through every stage of her career, she remained committed to persevering, fulfilling her responsibilities, and seeing each task through to completion.

As she reflects on 35 years of public service, Karen expresses deep gratitude for the journey she has undertaken, the many people she has encountered, the relationships she has built, and the experiences that have shaped her both personally and professionally. Above all, she is grateful for the opportunity to have served the Government and people of Belize and to have contributed, in her own way, to the continued work of the Belize Public Service.

Her 35-year career stands as a testament to perseverance, dedication, integrity, and a genuine commitment to service. Through the years, Karen has remained steadfast in her belief that every role, regardless of its size, provides an opportunity to make a positive contribution. As she reflects on her years of service, she does so with pride in what she has accomplished and appreciation for the people and experiences that have made her journey a meaningful one.
