After more than three decades of dedicated public service, he looks back upon his career with immense pride, gratitude, and a profound sense of fulfillment. His journey with the Customs Department began in August 1991, when he entered public service as a Tally Clerk. One month later, he met the young woman who would eventually become his wife and lifelong partner. In the years that followed, the responsibilities of husband and father further strengthened his appreciation for commitment, responsibility, integrity, and service values that would remain central throughout his professional life. The unwavering support of his wife and family has been an invaluable source of strength and encouragement throughout his personal and professional journey.

A significant milestone in his career was his promotion from Tally Clerk to Customs Officer. This advancement marked an important chapter in his professional development, providing him with greater responsibilities, new challenges, and opportunities to broaden his knowledge and understanding of Customs operations. Over the course of his distinguished career, he served in a wide range of operational areas, including Shipping, Airport, Examination, Private Warehouse, Port, Investigation, Post Office, Valuation, and Post Audit.

His service also took him to several locations across the country, including the Santa Elena Border, Benque Viejo, Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (PGIA), and Big Creek. These diverse assignments afforded him the opportunity to work within different communities and environments, while exposing him to a broad spectrum of responsibilities and experiences. His duties also allowed him to travel throughout Belize, deepening his appreciation for the country's people, communities, and rich cultural heritage.

Throughout his career, each assignment presented its own unique challenges and opportunities for growth. He came to understand that professional knowledge is acquired not solely through formal education and training, but also through practical experience, meaningful interactions, and the responsibilities entrusted to an officer in the execution of his duties. His years of service strengthened his appreciation for patience, effective communication, fairness, professionalism, discretion, integrity, and sound judgment.

One principle that has remained particularly meaningful throughout his journey is the belief that experience is the teacher of life. Every assignment provided a lesson, every challenge presented an opportunity for growth, and every interaction contributed to his development as a professional and as an individual. The people he encountered, the colleagues with whom he worked, and the communities he served all became an integral part of the story of his career.

For him, Customs was never merely a place of employment. It became a profession to which he developed a genuine sense of dedication, pride, and affection. Over the years, his work became an important part of his identity and provided him with countless opportunities to serve his country and make a meaningful contribution to Belize.

Above all, he remains deeply grateful to his wife and family for their steadfast love, sacrifice, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout the years.

Yet, perhaps most fittingly, the journey concludes with him wearing a star on the streets of Belmopan, the capital city of Belize a place where, as a young man, he once walked and where he graduated from Belize Comprehensive Schools. To return to those same streets at the culmination of his public service career is a moment of profound significance. It symbolizes not only the distance he has traveled, but also the growth, perseverance, dedication, and service that have defined his remarkable journey.

His career stands as a testament to the value of commitment, perseverance, and service to country. As he closes this chapter of his professional life, he can do so with the knowledge that he has served with purpose, contributed with distinction, and left behind a legacy of dedication and professionalism within the Customs Department and the wider public service of Belize.
