Leslie Anderson Wade was born on the 04/07/1970 at Punta Gorda Town, Toledo District. His formal education includes High School Diploma T.C.C, Associates Degree in Plant & Animal Science from B.C.A. He enlisted in the Belize Police Department as part of Recruit Squad No. 55 on September 1988 and have successfully graduated from training on 12th February 1989. His first post was at the Supreme Court as an Acting Court Marshall from 1989 to 1990. 1990 to 1995 he was transferred to the then Serious Crime Squad (SCS), where he gained substantial operational training and experience, being part of many key operations to counter crimes and event of major consequence to the national security of Belize. From 1995 to 1999 he was posted to the Intermediate Southern Formation (ISF), working many police-oriented duties and at varied postings. As a result of his hard work and dedication, he ended up being promoted from Constable, to Corporal, and eventually to Sergeant. After briefly serving as the Station Sergeant at the Dangriga Police Station in early 2000, he was transferred to the National Police Training Academy (NPTA) as an instructor in mid-2000. He served in this position for eight years, being an integral part of recruit training from squad No. 72 to 81.
After completing his service at the NPTA, he was eventually transferred to San Pedro, where he was posted as the Deputy Officer Commanding from 2008 to 2011. In early 2012, he was promoted to the rank of Inspector of Police, where he was transferred to Belmopan Headquarters, working as the Staff Officer for the then Commissioner of Police, David Hendeson, and later, for Mr. Allen Whylie. In 2013, He was promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police, and was transferred to a new operational unit, the Mobile Interdiction Team (MIT), from 2013 to 2017. Here, he was instrumental in its further development, resulting in the accomplishment of highly sensitive operational undertakings. These efforts resulted in him being promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police. In 2017, he returned to Dangriga Police Station, this time as its Officer Commanding, where he served from 2017 to 2020. He was then transferred back to Belmopan, this time as the Director of Training, where he was responsible for ensuring the development and implementation of key training and capacity building initiatives that are essential for the development of the BPD. Again, his dedication and hard work resulted in him being promoted to the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police. Eventually, in 2023, he was transferred to his current posting as the Commander, Management Services.
Sr. Supt Leslie Wade is happily married to Mrs. Emerita Wade and they enjoy the company of three wonderful sons Cory, Coby and Cylen. Sr, Supt Leslie Wade is the recipient of the following awards Long Service, Distinguished Service, Meritorious medals and numerous professional and technical achievements in key areas of policing and management, and a dedicated family man and both a church and community leader. His over 35+ years of dedicated service to both the Belize Police Department and the country of Belize is a demonstration of selfless service and love of country.
