Robert Collin Card Jr

Robert Collin Card Jr. was born on March 23, 1975, to Ms. Rosalind Samuels and Mr. Robert Collin Card Sr. He was the fourth of nine children. Growing up in a large family instilled in him important values such as cooperation, resilience, responsibility, and care for others. These values became guiding principles throughout his personal and professional life.

Robert began his formal education at Queen Square Primary School, where he graduated in 1989. From an early age, he demonstrated determination, responsibility, and a strong work ethic. During his school breaks, he worked at Malic Supermarket, gaining valuable work experience while also helping to support himself. His commitment to education and personal development continued throughout his life. He later attended St. John's Extension and graduated in 2009, an accomplishment that reflected his perseverance and belief in the importance of lifelong learning.

Robert's early working years provided him with valuable lessons in discipline, responsibility, and perseverance. From 1989 to 1990, he worked at Williamson Sewing Factory in Ladyville as a nipper. He subsequently joined Delta Store, where he worked until 1991. These early experiences helped shape his understanding of the value of dedication, hard work, and honest labour—qualities that would remain evident throughout his career.

On May 18, 1991, Robert began his career with the Belize Postal Service as an Office Assistant. This marked the beginning of a distinguished career in public service that would span more than three decades. Throughout his years with the Postal Service, he demonstrated commitment, reliability, and a willingness to grow professionally. His dedication was recognized through a series of promotions and changes in designation. In 2009, he became a Postman; in 2010, his position was redesignated as Postal Clerk II; and in 2023, he was promoted to Postal Clerk I.

Over more than three decades of service, Robert became a familiar and trusted presence within the community. His interactions with colleagues and members of the public were characterized by kindness, courtesy, patience, and respect. His commitment to providing dependable service contributed to the positive experiences of the many individuals with whom he came into contact.

Robert's journey in public service is more than a record of positions held and promotions earned. It is a story of perseverance, humility, loyalty, and dedication. From his early working years to his longstanding career with the Belize Postal Service, he consistently demonstrated the importance of hard work and commitment.

His professional journey reflects the values instilled in him from childhood, particularly the importance of family, responsibility, perseverance, and service to others. He approached his duties with quiet determination and remained committed to giving his best throughout the various stages of his career.

To those who have had the privilege of working with him and knowing him personally, Robert is remembered not only as a dedicated postal officer, but also as a brother, friend, colleague, and role model. His steady presence, respectful manner, and willingness to assist others have left a positive impression on many lives.

After more than three decades of service, Robert Collin Card Jr.'s career stands as a testament to the value of perseverance, honest work, and dedication to public service. His journey serves as an example of how a person can make a meaningful contribution through consistency, humility, and a genuine commitment to serving others.

His legacy will be remembered not only through the years of service he has given to the Belize Postal Service, but also through the relationships he has built, the colleagues and members of the public he has served, and the many lives he has touched along the way.
