Silvia Asucena Murga Larrea
Silvia Murga, born on April 9, 1970, hails from the picturesque town of San Ignacio. Her educational journey began at Sacred Heart Primary School, followed by Belmopan Comprehensive High School, and was further enriched through numerous national professional courses.
Silvia embarked on her public service career at the age of 19, starting as a Clerk Typist in 1989. Her role evolved over the years, and by 1994, she had advanced to Secretary III. During this period, she also served as a relief Secretary III, adeptly handling the responsibilities of senior colleagues on vacation. In 1995, Silvia transitioned to the Transport Department as an Acting Stenographer, and by 2000, she had moved to the Ministry of Works. Her career continued to progress with transfers to the Foreign Trade Department in 2007, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2008, the Ministry of Forestry & Fisheries in 2012, and subsequently to the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports & Culture in 2015. In 2017, she was assigned to the Ministry of Home Affairs, followed by a transfer to the Ministry of Rural Transformation, Labour & Local Government in 2021, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade in 2022.
