Public Service Walk of Recognition and Inspiration] The 2020 Public Service Awards Gala has been cancelled amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. Notwithstanding, the Ministry of Public Service has created a new way to recognize those innovative and dedicated public servants. On Thursday of last week, Dr. Peter Allen, CEO of the Ministry of Public Service, and Mayor of Belmopan Khalid Belisle, signed a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of the Public Service Walk of Recognition and Inspiration.
The walk will be located on the walkway beginning on the west Ring Road between the Belize Bank and Angelus Press and leading up to the stairs of the National Assembly building. It is expected to serve as a public pillar and potential framework for economic and social development in the City of Belmopan
INAUGURATION OF THE BELIZE PUBLIC SERVICE WALK OF RECOGNITION AND INSPIRATION
The Ministry of Public Service Inaugurated the Belize Public Service Monument and Walk of Recognition and Inspiration in Belmopan. The idea for the monument was conceived by those at the Ministry of Public Service who wanted to do something to recognize public servants despite not being able to host a 2020 Public Service Awards Gala. The monument is completed and the walk of recognition is on its way to completion.
This morning, a group of about 15 persons gathered in front of the monument on the walk way that runs alongside the Angelus Press and the Belize Bank and leads to the National Assembly steps in the capital city.
